What oath? (or Why Islam Sucks part 231)

http://anti-strib.blogspot.com/

Many westerners were shocked to find out that the latest set of jihadist homicide bombers were doctors, forgetting (for the moment) that Osama bin Laden's number 2 in command is himself a doctor! Considering that the conventional wisdom is that the jihadists actions are caused by extreme poverty, the fact that a well to do doctor would be a jihadist just does not fit into the apologists neat little compartments of who is wrong and who is "righteous" in this particular fight. However a little history into the jihadist movement shows that this conventional wisdom is neither conventional or wise. Some quotes to consider.

"Islam says: Whatever good there is exists thanks to the sword and in the shadow of the sword! People cannot be made obedient except with the sword! The sword is the key to paradise, which can be opened only for holy warriors!

There are hundreds of other [Koranic] psalms and hadiths urging Muslims to value war and to fight. Does all that mean that Islam is a religion that prevents men from waging war? I spit upon those foolish souls who make such a claim.”

“Islam grew with blood . . . . The great prophet of Islam in one hand carried the Koran and in the other a sword . . . . Islam is a religion of blood for the infidels but a religion of guidance for other people.”
---Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini."

But, but, but the apologists sputter - what about their Hypocratic Oath (First do no harm). The Islamic text Suhih Bukhari (a book that is a study guide for the Sunnah) offers this insight into the violation of said oath.

"By Allah, and Allah willing, if I take an oath and later find something else better than that. then I do what is better and expiate my oath” Sahih Bukhari 7:67:427. "

This statement sums up the modern practice of "taqiyya" which literally means concealing or guarding. It is used in a number of ways to protect ones honor or in doing business. The jihadists use the practice of taqiyya to justify what the doctors did (in attempting to violate their hypocratic oath). To the jihadists, any falsehood told in the carrying out of jihad is not only acceptable, they believe that it is sanctioned by the Koran! This can include lying under oath (even if sworn on the Koran) or even denying ones faith in Allah - provided that in doing so you are actually furthering Allah's work.

The practice of taqiyya dates back to the time of the Beoduins and Arab tribalism. It is a practice that is not limited to Islam though. One defination that I read of taqiyya included the phrase "deceptive triangulation". Hmmmmm that sounds like a few politicians I know...but I digress.

Taqiyya is one of the many cultural differences (between Islam and the West) that is making the greater Global War on Terrorism so difficult to fight and why we must not only be more patient than the jihadists - we have to put on our best "poker faces". We have to be able to recognize taqiyya when we are presented with it and react accordingly. Hopefully our leaders are willing to do so, but given what I have seen so far, I don't think that is going to happen.

If we give the government the power to confiscate our arms we also give up the ultimate means to combat that corrupt power. In doing so we can only assure that we will eventually be totally subject to it.” —Ronald Reagan
